Julie Mealani Holland: Biography, Shows, Press:

Julie Mealani HollandJulie Mealani Holland has had a desire to paint since she was a child. Born and raised in Kailua, Hawaii, her artwork resonates the simple yet pure and vivid imagery captured in nature throughout the islands of Hawaii. After graduating with honors from Punahou School, she continued her studies at Brigham Young University – Hawaii where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business with a double major in Fine Arts graduating Magna Cum Laude.

Julie’s primary medium is oil on canvas though it certainly does not stop there. She has also been commissioned to paint murals for homes and schools where she enjoys contributing to a creative learning environment.

Early in 2009, Julie was an invited artist at Punahou School’s Alumni Art Gallery event, held during the Punahou Carnival; her work has been attracting attention since. Recently, Jack Johnson’s Kokua Foundation has selected her as the artist for the famed Kokua Festival coming in April 2010.
